Procedure to Apply for a 0001 Number Plate
Here is the process simplified through the MoRTH and state RTO e-auction portal:
The Application Process-
1) Register as a public user on the MoRTH or state RTO website.
2) Select the RTO, and check the fancy number availability under Fancy Number Allocation (specifically 0001).
3) Pay a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable deposit of the base bidding amount.
4) Participate in live auctions where bids increase in multiples of Rs. 10,000 (be prepared for spikes during competitive functions involving bids).
5) Upon winning the plate, make the remaining payment online within 5 days of winning to hold the plate.
6) Upon receiving payment, print your official allotment letter, which is only valid for 90 days.
7) Install the vehicle plate within the letter validity period to prevent having your plate cancelled.
Eligibility Criteria for Getting 0001 Number Plate
Vehicle Ownership
Applicants need to own a vehicle registered in India, or be ready to buy and then register a new vehicle. for the Vehicle ownership, you need, Proof of ownership as well as the Registration Certificate (RC) and chassis number, will be required at the time of application.
