A life goal of mine has been to be able to afford a driver for all transportation. I do not dream so large as to see a limousine in my future, but someone to chauffeur me around would be heavenly. Self-driving cars may come before I can realize that dream, but we can all take advantage of seamless transfers that eliminate the hassle of driving, traffic, parking, fees, or tolls as we move in our busy lives.
I marvel at our drink drive laws when I see a club parking lot full of hundreds of cars. How are all those people sober to drive home legally? I take driving after drinking very seriously due to a childhood tragedy that I will not detail here. So seriously, that I will not drink even one alcoholic beverage and get behind the wheel, or on the motorbike, as it is with me.
Today’s easy lift apps like Uber or DiDi on our phones give us access to transport for these simple needs of taxi service. In my opinion, these are anything but professional drivers. Certainly not trained, specifically licensed or regulated in any way, an Uber driver could be a greater danger on the road than you might be. What are your experiences?
- A professional airport transfer hire will show up early, assist with baggage loading, present a clean and well maintained vehicle, and conduct themselves with utmost professionalism as they deliver you to the start of your trip. Travel can be exhausting due to the layers of intermodal transfers and time. Why arrive exhausted and annoyed when you can show up with energy and peace?
- People who have disabilities understand the value of simple transportation. Our national disabilities insurance scheme (NDIS) has provisions to assist those of us with mobility limitations. Providers who understand and respect these needs offer vehicles designed to accommodate NDIS users and their equipment, chairs, or scooters, and deliver point-to-point services, not drop you off far from the front door.
- When you have a new product launch, annual business congress, tradeshow, exposition or event, a planned minibus can keep visiting foreigners or a group of friends from wandering or arriving uncontrolled. Personally, you can arrive in style, have your door opened for you, and step out in an image of success. It shouldn’t make a difference what you arrive in, but Cinderella says it does, so order your VIP a car and driver with class.
- When it is time for the bachelor, bachelorette or wedding parties to get on the move the safest and most fun option is a spacious limo or minibus to keep the party going regardless of destination. When a limo pulls up, everyone looks because it is a specialty vehicle; those inside must be special. As a valued customer, you are special, and a concerned company will provide every comfort you desire on your special days of celebration.
As I mentioned above, an Uber driver is someone with a car and a licence. A very low standard for operation. Quality companies have their own well-maintained fleet of vehicles and a driver stable of skilled, unrestricted licence holders who have their health and physical abilities assessed annually and randomly. There are government requirements for professional drivers. The roads are already a dangerous place. Why turn over control from your hands to someone with less concern?
Someday, I will achieve my goal of a full-time driver or driverless car. Until then, we have safe, affordable options. Choose wisely, arrive in style and fully relaxed for once in your life.
