Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was first unveiled at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in April 2017 and sold in 2018. It was proposed as a single, fully-loaded model with a US MSRP of starting at 86,995, and going up to 90, 070 by its last model year in 2021. Grey-import on-road sale prices in India are between 1.20 and 1.55 crore. Its fuel economy is about 13 mpg combined – about 5.4 km per litre.
The Jeep Jeepers 2012 SUV is the most powerful and fastest SUV in the history of the world. It has SUVs and then there is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Among the many able, comfortable, and ever-stronger utility cars in a segment, the Trackhawk came in 2018 as a declaration that was so audacious as to be irrational, and that is what was so brilliant about it.
It is a five-door all-wheel-drive performance SUV, designed by Jeep under its SRT (Street and Racing Technology) performance brand under which it trades as a brand under Stellantis N.V. which was previously known as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Trackhawk was not an attempt to compete on paper – it was an attempt to embarrass supercars at the intersection as it transported five adults and their baggage in an air-conditioned luxury. And it worked, over and over, in drag strips and mountain roads all over the world.
The most important engineering choice of the Trackhawk is the 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 engine which was directly borrowed by Dodge and its legendary Hellcat series. This is not a de-tuned, road-smoothed Hellcat engine, but the entire, vicious one, with 707 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft) of torque.
The Trackhawk is mated with an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and the Quadra-Trac all-wheel-drive system with an electronic limited-slip rear differential, which accelerates the car to 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.5 seconds, a time that makes it compete with Porsche 911s and Ferrari GT cars.
Jeep and its History (Born in War, Built the World)
Jeep is one of the most well-known and admired motor brands of all time and its history does not start in a showroom room, but in the battlefields in the Second World War. In 1941, Willys-Overland Motors was awarded a contract to manufacture a four-wheel-drive reconnaissance vehicle that was small in size. The resulting Willys MB, known as the ‘Jeep’ (named perhaps after General Purpose (GP)) was the iconic military vehicle of the Allied armies, with the war having ended by the production of more than 600,000 units.
Following the year 1945, Willys realised its civilian use and launched the CJ-2A, which became the first Civilian Jeep, to individuals in farms, adventure seekers and rural areas. This brand was followed by Kaiser Industries (1953), American Motors Corporation (1970), and Chrysler (1987), and only had a modern era under Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) since 2009. In January 2021, FCA combined with PSA Group to become Stellantis N. V. under which Jeep is being operated in the world today
The Grand Cherokee Heritage
The Grand Cherokee was unveiled to global recognition in the 1992 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, when the CEO of Jeep literally drove one through the plate-glass windows of the lobby to become automotive folklore. It has been evolving over a period of three decades of more than five generations to become a performance vehicle that is a benchmark of luxury.
SRT performance division started to make Grand Cherokee performance variants since 2006 (Grand Cherokee SRT8, 6.1L HEMI, 425 hp), followed by the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT (6.4L HEMI, 475 hp) and the most powerful and quickest Grand Cherokee made to date, the Trackhawk, in The company has a sister brand, Dodge, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot and Citroen, and currently Stellantis has Jeep operating in 70-plus countries with the Grand Cherokee continuing to be the flagship product of the brand in the premium SUV sector.
Trackhawk Price and Variants
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was available in only one trim, fully-equipped, in all four years of production. No underperforming or entry-level Trackhawk product was ever created – all of them were fitted with the complete performance and luxury equipment as standard.
The changes between the years are only minor changes in technology and specifications and not structural changes. India pricing under is an indication of estimates of grey market CBU imports in Delhi NCR.

Conclusion
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk holds a specific and unparalleled place in the history of the car industry. During 2018-2021, it showed conclusively that a five-seat family SUV with actual off-road capability could offer supercar-like acceleration and track car-like braking without being rendered unlivable, luxurious and practical on a daily basis at a price that made the European establishment blush. It is a car that was beyond the performance SUV category that it created.
After all, the Trackhawk is not a car that fits everybody, it demands respect, attention, and acceptance of supercar gas bills in an SUV package. However, to those who perceive what it signifies 707 horsepower, 3.5 seconds to 60 mph, Brembo brakes, Nappa leather, an Harman Kardon symphony, and the Jeep seven-slot grille, it is and will be one of the most memorable performance vehicles to have any production badge on it. The Trackhawk was, in all its true sense, a unique product.
