Tata Sierra Overview

The Tata Sierra first came into existence in 1991 as the very first fully Indian manufactured sports utility vehicle (SUV). The design of this vehicle was shaped from 3 doors, giving it an elegant, curvy shape, whereas the roof of this model consisted of glass. Production ceased for the Tata Sierra in 2000; however, there are still many fans of the vehicle today, and it has greatly influenced later models of the Tata vehicles, specifically the Tata Safari.
In 2025, Tata re-launched the Sierra as an all-new 5-door SUV. The new model will incorporate the same essence of the original look of the Tata Sierra, but with the addition of today’s technology features, such as a huge glass roof and digital screens. The way that the new model will fit into today’s market will be in competition with similar mid-sized SUVs from Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
