About NS 200 Discontinuation and Comeback

The Pulsar NS200 was developed under the KTM-Bajaj collaboration, where Bajaj made a clone of the 200cc engine inside the KTM Duke 200, which is confusing and frustrating. The original NS200 was launched in 2012, powered by a carbureted 200cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It was discontinued in 2015 due to dismal sales, but was revived in 2017 with the new name “NS200.”

In 2020, it had an update with fuel injection to comply with BS6 emissions. In 2024, it had further updates with a fully digital instrument cluster, slip-and-assist clutch, Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, and full LED lighting.

Safety Ratings and Users Reviews

Safety Ratings:

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 does not have an official safety rating from any organisation, such as Global NCAP or Euro NCAP, as these ratings are generally not done for motorcycles. This bike has a dual-channel ABS brake system and good disc brakes, which make it a significantly safer motorcycle than older model motorcycles that do not have ABS. Those who ride this motorcycle pay praise to how it stops and handles on the road confidently, therefore making it a safer choice for both city and highway riding. However, a big part of how safe you are on this motorcycle is also dependent on the rider and road conditions.

User Reviews:

  • For the most part, It is very well liked because of its power, ease of use, and value for the money.
  • Two features that are frequently identified as security features which build up the rider’s confidence are the dual-channel ABS and the strong braking system.
  • Riders like its aggressive look and modern technologies, including Bluetooth and LED lights.
  • Some riders do mention that the bike can feel a little hard over bumpy roads, and a few complain about the durability of the paint and body, but nothing major.
  • Mileage is decent; if you absolutely ride aggressively, then of course the mileage will not be as good as expected.
  • Overall, It is an excellent bike that is fun and enjoyable while being safe and affordable for daily use and longer rides.
